Is the Exide 017TE still the battery of choice?
Hello, sorry for the newbie question - I've been receiving the HDC system unavailable - reading many forums it looks like the LR branded battery in my D3 is nearing it's end of life.
After checking the forums - there seems to be lots recommending the Exide 017TE (EA1000 ?), however all the appends seem to be fairly old. As technologies change, and other manufacturers potentially improving, is this still the battery of choice?

For a D3 yes it is, it would be differant if you had a D4 with stop/start.
If you buy through Tayna.co.uk there is a forum discount code you can use.

Thank you for the help. Yeah sounds like the D4 needs AGM type.
I'll order the Exite - any hints of the code to use?
Really appreciate the help as a new D3 owner

Is there a time frame on replacing the battery? I have had my D3 for 3 years and I haven't changed the battery.

If that's the original battery you've done very well.

Not that I know of. If it's a non LR one then it's been changed, but if it's a LR badged one then it may or may not have been swapped.

No worries. TBH with the cost of a battery if you're in doubt (bad starting, HDC not available, etc) just swap it anyway. It's easy to swop, if just a bit heavy. Considering the operating costs of these cars it's not a lot.

I don't have any problems with it at all if i'm honest (touching wood as i'm typing this). I don't want to be caught out.

Call Tayna first as I ordered one last week as it showed as available but it was out of stock. I got a refund very quickly etc. Daniel there said they won't be back in stock until the end of January (Even though you can still click and buy).
I got the same battery somewhere else and am really happy with it. I also replaced an original LR battery.2008 XS Java Black
