Car Insurance Renewal
So the D4 is up for renewal, existing provider quoted £745, £13 cheaper than last year. SWMBO was concerned at this increasing further due to me driving the V40 into the rear of someone back in April!
Off to comparison sites and I have been quoted like for like off the existing provider £325, all details the same but an accident declared and my job description as Planning Manager not Planning Surveyor. Surely a title change cannot constitute a £420 saving for the year!!
Happy SWMBO, she pays the insurance as technically it is "her baby" although the Disco fairy fills her up, maintains and washes 2010 D4 GS

It doesn't pay to be loyal to an insurance provider, unfortunately, you have to shop for the best deal each year. Just another job to add the list!Richard

Also, companies will loss lead on Year 1 to get you on board, premium increases Y2 - mate has his own brokerage - always tells me to never insure with the same company each year and use Gocompare etc. - I've saved a few hundred quid this year.

I always check Richard, last year they were bang on the money, this year they were bang on the money however it was through a comparison site. Bloody annoying that they don't offer the best offer for existing customers SWMBO has been with them for 9 years! Ah well I'm back in the good books after getting her a saving and not putting it up 2010 D4 GS

A number of times SWMBO or I have canceled a policy, then re-insured with the same company, via an online comparison, and saved money! It doesn't really make sense!Richard

I did read somewhere recently it might be worth re-insuring mid term and by the end of 2016 because of 2017 price hikes and it will save money.

Apparently about 50% renew automatically without querying so that's why. Given the ipt change and rise in rates, that will change in due course.

If you cant be bothered doing the annual comparison site thing, its at least worth giving your current company a call to see what they can do. Mine offered a £250 reduction from £1350 on our 3 cars over the phone. Not enough to dissuade me from moving to the second best comparison site figure at £900 though D4 GS 12MY

2017 car insurance renewl.
I am looking around and speaking to a broker re car insurance. I have a multi car policy which is with a reputable company. Local brokers have suggested COVEA in Reading. I have not heard of them and reviews on the 'net are not that good. Their web site suggests that they are 5 star, the reviews suggest only 1 star. Has anybody used them or have any views?

i was with adrian flux for over 7 x years
when i went to my D3 they wanted over £1500
then went on the comparison sites and there were over 10 x ins companies quoting £500
they wouldnt budge and there phone atidude stank, they didn't give a rats
also had to pay a £75 cancellation fee,
got my ins for just under £500 , inc full breakdown cover , protected ncb, 25% extra on write off value
made me realise that as mentioned loyalty means nothing these days
