'The Cleveland Bridge and Engineering Co.' of Darlington. Co. Durham, and 'Dorman Long' of Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire.
These two companies are responsible for building the Sydney Harbour Bridge .

Sorry to correct you Les, but Middlesborough is not in North Yorkshire!!
tis Teeside!
You must abide a bit too far south of our beautifull county of Yorkshire?
Don't say that to anyone from the 'Boro over the age of 40 Ron!
Pedantic hat on.....
"In 1974 the Teesside county borough was absorbed into the larger non-metropolitan county of Cleveland along with the towns of Hartlepool and Guisborough. The Teesside area was partitioned between the boroughs of Stockton-on-Tees, Middlesbrough and Langbaurgh, with the wards of Billingham East & West, Grangefield, Hartburn, Mile House, North End, Norton, Stockton South, Thornaby East & West going to Stockton; the wards of Coatham, Eston Grange, Kirkleatham, Ormesby, Redcar and South Bank going to Langbaurgh; and the rest going to Middlesbrough.
Local government reorganisation in 1996, recommended by the Banham Review, saw the county of Cleveland broken up into the four independent unitary authority boroughs of Hartlepool, Stockton, Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland (a renamed Langbaurgh). At this time they were returned to the counties of North Yorkshire and County Durham for ceremonial purposes, with Stockton-on-Tees becoming the only district in England split between two ceremonial counties".

Notice the hardy (read "stupid") cyclist in the last shot - I had to pass him a few minutes later - though to be fair he did give me a wave of thanks (captured on video - on youtube later) after I waited to pass him rather than 'steam' him into the snow filled verge Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

With visibility like that any cyclist not wearing high vis gear, and a really good set of lights must rely on a very large dollop of luck. While you did't dump him into the snow because you knew he was there the next truck along might not see him and so dump him into the first ditch along the way (with, or without a snow filling).

I stand well and truly corrected Les
I was up the North York [or would that be Middlesborough] Moors, catching the first Winter [horizontal] snow.
I was walking in the stuff for too many hours.
Just had bath to thaw out ... a nice wee Glenlivet now to warm up my cockles ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Took SWMBO and the 3 sprogs to the BBC Good Food Show at Olympia. Drove from Reading as it's cheaper than the blooming train, eat too much and had a mouthful of "hot sauce" that's still stinging 3 hours later!!
Worked out that "Shirley", my sat nav, is pants compared to "Sharon" in my previous X-trail.
I'll have to read the manual now Welcome "Lola"

RichardK and I took a couple of new D3 owners down to the Harvey forest tracks in Western Australia to show them what their new steeds could do. I think they both came away impressed!

Judge for yourself the cycling foolishness - 45-70 seconds in
Apologies for the music choice Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)
Mainly reversed uphill for 1/2 a mile on a narrow greenlane near me, as Mr Range Rover Sport didn't / couldn't reverse into a ing gateway 20 feet behind him
Bloody good fun watching him fail to drive the car along the greenlane properly (he had at least a full turn of lock on in the rutts) then wondered why he drove into a hedge at the end of the rutted section
