The A686 through Alston and up over Hartside is a great road Ed and there are some great green lanes off the road, there is a really good one that starts in the car park of the Hartside Cafe Cheers Ian

It did look like there maybe some, but we had to get back. Quite bleak out there though think I would have needed someone up here with me!
I did the Old a Coach Road yesterday, quite a bit if repair work done to the downhill part at the St John's in the Vale end.
Will post a few pics when I get home.

Pulled a very large van out of the middle of the motorway (forgotten which one ) on my way home for the weekend. It's gearbox decided to disintegrate, and it's driver decided to coast to a stop in the center lane instead of pull onto the hard shoulder.
Luckily a traffic officer was on hand to stop the slow lane so I could pull the van to safety... turns out the officer was ex-REME as well so we had a nice little chat about the vans mechanical problems while unhitching the tow ropes what is this life, if full of care?

Get my car back tomorrow after the dealer has had it for over a week.
'Blender motor' on the air con was bust. All done under warranty. The only problem was having to drive a for a week!

Well yesterday it got a wash.
Then today took it to see Flack. Discs and pads all round, EPB shoes and a service. So not only does it look good it drives and stops great too
