Today I took the D3 and family to Longleat for the day.

Managed to avoid the monkey enclosure! When we parked up after the drive through the safari park another D3 (06 reg in Java black) pulled in along side me. We exchanged hellos and he noted that I had managed to miss the monkeys and said it gave him an excuse to follow me!
Next a D2 county pulled in and the driver started to replace all the trim around the windows and roof that had been removed by the little blighters! Sadly he couldn't do much with the shredded weel cover...... [/img]

Today, I have been working up in Penrith. I just got home. I hit the M6 at J40, got to xxmph, set cruise, put on my favourite CD, the next time I cut the cruise was when the M61 met the M60. Fantastic.

The air suspension let out it's rear gasses half way out of the trail. Anything over 1.5 inches off the ground was suddenly a noisy obstacle that my exhaust and skid plates had no problem complaining about.
Once out of the woods, I drove about 20-23 miles striaght (Via RT1) to the Branford Mobile Exit54 carwash so that I could better diagnose the problem. The LR dealer did offer to have the vehicle flat bed towed, but I wanted to know what it would be like to drive a failed Rover home! My LR3 is booked for service first thing in the AM today.
08/26/2006 Update:
Warranty repair receipt. Note the failed nylon component!
I drove over to the dealership @ 8AM EST and was out by 12:30PM EST. I am told that this component looks as though it was overheated and blew. I think this happened because I ignored a system request from the LR3. When I was high centered on a stump, the air suspension reacted by raising the vehicle another few inches off the ground. The air suspension was fully extended and maximum air pressure was exerted. When in this state, the information center displays = -:reset suspension height once clear of the obstacle:-. I ignored this message and retried the hill about three more times, FULL SPEED AHEAD! This must have caused enormous pressure as there was barely any compliance from the suspension in Super Extended Mode. The weakest link in the system happened to be this nylon connector. I'm all fixed now under warranty.
BTW - This was a dealer sponsored event and they witnessed this failure first hand and still repaired it!

I've been to Aberdeen and back today!!! 725 miles, and done a full days work in the middle
However, I must confess the D3 did exactly 14 of them, and spent the day in the multi storey at Manchester International Airport

Angrd020, the connector listed is a splice connector - used for joining two pipe ends, it looks like the air pipe has split, possibly due to a nick in it's side from previous stone impact etc. Timely reminder though, I'm going to take a couple of splices with me to Morocco

what did you do in your disco today
Not quite today but over the weekend spent a couple of hour playing on the motorcross track on land near the inlaws. Had to prove to the father in law that contrary to what he thought I would not need to be towed out of the mud and water on the track. This is from a man who owns a Jeep Brother in law was mighty impressed with the capabilities and it was worth it to see the look on the wifes face when I returned with the baby well and truely christened. Although Sunday was power washer day to clean off the mud. The more I drive this car the more impressed I am with it.

Wish I could get my D3 to do this on command, might mean the mutts are less reluctant to get in!
