I done Euston to West Stow yesterday, some of the route is bone dry but the southern end of the Icknield Way/West Stow road is very rutted but this can be avoided. My brother in law is working there repairing the byeways at the moment on behalf of the council and says it's due to be graded soon.
7 Tree Road which heads north from Icklingham has a tro on it at the moment due to damage from agricultural vehicles.

Just to jump in and get on the back of this, as a novice myself in the area, I would be up for a group trundle out Thetford or Cambs way one Sunday with some like minded folk...

Just a heads up if people go that way, go easy on the tracks and avoid the temptation to play in the man made holes.
The damage caused by some groups (nothing wrong with big knobbly tyres, but I do have a problem with big 'knob'ly people)...has caused the byways to be closed in places for repairs etc, and is adding to the list of reasons to enforce a TRO.
Additionally these routes are used by the local groups Norfolk and Suffolk 4x4 Response (I'm a volunteer myself) and Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue for training exercises and sometimes live searches (i.e. Corrie McKeague) It would be most unhelpful if they became inaccessible!
Other than that, enjoy!
