Green laning in UK, advice needed |
|
Hello everybody,
A freind of mine and me will travel with his Disco from Switzerland to UK, starting the 25.03, in order to visit Prospeed (near York) and get all their wonderful parts installed on the car.
In two or three days we will then travel to Solihull, to visit the JLR factory and the try the Land Rover Experience.
Then we will move to Oxford, and to Rye, and travel back home.
I know in UK there is a lot of green lanes and off roading to do, could perhaps someone who knows the region we will visit, help us to figure out some nice roads or places to visit close to our itinerary ?
We'd like to focus on discovering also the rural side of UK.
Many thanks and all the best !
Fred

I've popped a note over to one of the regional GLASS (Green Lane Association) reps to see if he can point you at anyone. Will let you know!

@ Madrilleno Wow, would have been super nice, but we'll arrive in south UK the evening of the 25, have fun !
Maybe also the guys at Prospeed will be able to point us to some nice trails...

I can point you to a few nice easy green lanes in Yorkshire, but even on the easy ones it's safer to go with more than one vehicle (but never more than six vehicles).
Here's a GPX file showing a few easy lanes. You'll need good maps (1:25000 scale Ordnance Survey) and I'd still recommend going with at least one more vehicle.
