Think I might've done something bad...

I've had a vibration for a while most noticeable over 45mph and seems to get louder when I come off the gas and decelerate, take it out of gear and it is the same.
I've been out giving all the drive a shake and settled that it was my front prop shaft, the uj at the gearbox was leaking grease and looser than the other end.
So I've just taken it off and refixed the the gearbox crossmember and thought I would take it for a drive (going easy on accelerating) to see if the rumble has gone, thing is she now starts up but I have no lights or drive... Big Cry is it just because the front driveshaft is missing or something worse?

iid is showing fault codes B1D00-15 left low beam circuit- general electrical failure-curcuit short to battery or open.
B1D01-15 right low beam circuit- general electrical failure-curcuit short to battery or open.
B1D17-87 bus circuit - bus signal / message failure - missing a message.
I didn't disconnect the battery today but didn't touch anything electrical... is it due to this? Whistle

I tried doing a vehicle reset but that didn't help..

I suspect it doesn't like not having a front prop. if that's all you have touched. The centre diff is open & locks with wheel slip etc. so no drive but also no wheel slip so it could IMHO be just confused.

No prop = no drive = wheel speed error = Canbus critical error = teddies out of D3 pram.

The mechanicals will not appreciate it either.

phew, thanks guys Thumbs Up

I don't really want to put this prop back on just to take it off again, here is a little video (if I work out how to upload it) to show the play in the joint I was holding the camera with one hand so had to try to show the play with the other but there is a notable difference between the two. Rotationally there is only a slight amount of play but I think its shot..?
Could I get it reconditioned or just buy a new one?

Select a TR setting that locks the centre diff, that should fool the car that the prop is there, drive through the rear and get you going Thumbs Up

Rotational play is all that really matters, the thing has to slide hence the slack that way, have you took the gaiter off for a look see?
I wouldnt bother getting a recon one, new for piece of mind if you replace it.

On the older live axle land rovers rumble/shaking on the over run is nearly always the rear prop slider worn and as the D3 likes to eat its rear prop centre bearing rubber mount thats where I would be looking first.

I replaced the rear one last year and this noise has been there since (or before but was drowned out by the centre bearing) swmbo thinks it's in my head Rolling Eyes as it's not a major vibration but it's enough to get on my ocd! thing is I don't really know what the car should sound like as the center bearing was gone when I bought it Neutral

I'll open up the gaiter for a peek but not really sure what I'll be looking at Embarassed I kinda assumed it was that as it is so much looser than the other end..
