The only difference is the colour, what are you referring to? The protective strips?

The package as a whole, it's not a design classic by any means but in grey/silver it just highlights it even more. In grey it looks like the first Cayenne, which remains the epitome of fugly.Tony

That's some sort of protection!!
I initially thought the pillars were "chromed", but you're probably right. I think you can see it peeling on the n/s front A pillar.
Here's an example of what I feared:

That grey one looks terrible, post-chav almost. When's the Burberry Limited Edition out?
Did they take the original Cayenne and try and reimagine an ugly generic SUV for the 21st century?
Is this LR design nowadays
On a serious note, given the D5 is a poor attempt at putting a D4 style body on a RR chassis, what's the point of the RRS in the range?
Why is a standard grey D5 'post chav'? The white colouring on the A, B, and D pillars isn't chrome, it's white protection tape the same as on the bonnet and side vents. You can see where it's torn on both A pillars.2012 - 8 Speed D4 HSE in Indus Silver with surround cameras, adaptive headlamps, privacy glass, rear entertainment, 20" alloys.

Check out the "bling" D pillar on the grey one.
I do now realise that this is protection film, not added "bling".

The RRS is supposed to be the sporty cousin of the FFRR. When they put the 5.0 SC V8 in the D5 and give it the RRS's dynamic setup, you'll be able to query the RRS's existence. Sadly, the I4 is destined to find a home in RRS too - but at least there will be a proper alternative option available.
Interestingly, the RRS2 wasn't well received when it first arrived. Many disliked the rear end treatment (sound familiar) and thought it looked too "Ewok-like". Well, the RRS2 has turned out to be an excellent vehicle, some trim quality issues aside. It sells well, that's for sure.
The one thing about the RRS2 I really hate - yes, hate - are the fake bonnet vents. They're carried over from the styling of the 3 door Ewok and they annoy me every time I see them. Take those off and the vehicle would look much better. If I buy a RRS2 in the future, I shall seriously consider getting a body shop to remove them and any trace of them.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

From their sizes, to the number of doors, the drive system, the number of seats, the aluminium platform and body construction, the engine layout, the choice of engines and gearbox to the air suspension, to the factory that they are built in, these are completelydifferentanimals; it's difficult to see any similarities at all!
