It's an unmodified 2006 D3 so I guess the original headlights are halogen? But sitting here on my sofa, without looking, I don't know.

If you have got halogens, then the easiest upgrade is to the D3 bi-xenon units. A very worthwhile upgrade in terms of performance. They can typically be had 2nd hand for about £200.
If you particularly want the D4 look, then it can be done but is more involved, requiring new bumper, grill and alterations to the wings. The details are on here somewhere, if you do a search.
If you just want an economic performance upgrade, then some uprated bulbs - Philips Xtreme or Osram Nightbreakers are both popular and can be had for under £30.Darren
