fuel pressure 0,4 and goes to 0 when running |
|
2 months with problems for my disco 3 TDV6 euro 4.
I changed the LP fuel pump, the fuel filter and the HP fuel pump and also we cleaned the injectors.
The pressure is 0,4 bar when I turn the key and when the engine is running the pressure goes to 0!!
As I knew the pressure should be at 0,5 bar and be stable as the engine is running.
Any suggestions? The mechanical said that euro 3 engines ( they have different filter and HPFP) has to work with stable fuel pressure 0.5 but mine which is euro 4 not. He said that the LP is only for the start and afterwards only the HPFP does all the job.
What do u think???
( 2 months with HDC system fault, engine system fault, park brake fault, suspension lowered, F transmission fault limited gears available. The battery was a new one just 1 month old but I changed it as the mechanical adviced me to do so but the problems continued to appear)

Robbie wrote this post which will tell you everything you need to know about the lpfp.
Check the alternator output if you keep needing new batteries New gearbox & TC, 3 x front wheel bearings, belts changed, new oil pump, new battery, new rear prop, new front prop, new front diff, front arb refurbed, front cv boot kit, egr blank and BAS software patch, full rear suspension / drivelive rebuild, new front arms, LED trailer light fix, split charge.
Never had a 107, 90 or 127, but have had most of the rest!

I have read Robbie's guide and it's almost clear that the pressure should be stable at 0.5 bar. I can't understand what's going wrong with my disco and works at 0.2bar and I 've already changed the LP, the fuel filter, the HPFP and the battery

Blocked pipes...? Perhaps blow compressed air backwards through them? New gearbox & TC, 3 x front wheel bearings, belts changed, new oil pump, new battery, new rear prop, new front prop, new front diff, front arb refurbed, front cv boot kit, egr blank and BAS software patch, full rear suspension / drivelive rebuild, new front arms, LED trailer light fix, split charge.

It could be.. I was thinking of that yesterday night. It's the only thing I didn't change and make a sense.
