Thanks davyb. Finding someone prepared to make a sample loom using the right connectors allowed a gizmo to be turned into something useful for many.

I wasn't previously aware of Sovereign Auto... I'd be keen to know how much they charge to fit the LLams and also your experiences if you are using them for servicing. Sounds like I need to pay a visit!

I suggest you ask Sovereign Autos for a supply and fit price. They seem to like the kit and are now aware that they might get a better price buying the kit from DPL themselves.

Keeping the suspension up

Thanks Graeme. I'm also getting feedback from StornawaySA - between he and his brother, sounds like they've got it covered.
Cheers,
Martin

I have not fitted or seen the kit first hand. My adjustable rods are doing the trick for now. I'm just thoroughly impressed with the time and effort required to get these to the people.

Hi Rich,

Thanks for your great support and feed-back. I'm sure your docs would be of great help to anyone who wants to install the kit themselves.

There seems to be plenty of interest (almost 1000 accesses to the AULRO thread) but BD is still on his 1st batch so only moving slowly so far. I suspect the thought of being able to "keep the suspension up" is attractive, but something that needs to be experienced to be fully appreciated - its soooo much better on rough tracks at a raised height yet retains good on-road manners at normal height. Maybe kits will start moving as people prepare for next winter's travels.

Happy Christmas to you too.

Regards,
Graeme

My only issue is I'm not getting heights as expected - only plus around 15-18mm and plus approx 33-35mm (rather than plus 30 and plus 50). Graeme, any hints or is it just every vehicle is different??

Has the lack of height been resolved yet?

GraemS
fitted mine this afternoon, quite straight forward install, HOWEVER, I too have similar height increases to StorawaySA - only measured it once after install; will try it again after a run on Sunday in the bush and report back

When doing a calibration, I lean through the open driver's window to operate the switches and always wait for the compressor to stop before using a height. When calibration is finished, if +50 is selected whilst still in off-road height mode then normal height mode is selected straight away, no height change should occur.

If a raising slowly or compressor overheated message occurs, I abandon that calibration as I've seen some very low final off-road heights after these. I suspect the ecu sometimes thinks near enough is good enough. Perhaps the calibration needs to be done on a cool morning when the compressor works well, initially anyway.

Back from two weeks in the Vic High Country - LLAMS was BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Other 4wd's were agog at the "lift kit' we had!!! and "ducking down"(lowering) to get under fallen trees across the track was something a 3inch lifted Patrol cant do!!! Laughing

Really REALLY impressive - if you are a serious off roader (read: like challenging 4wding in your D3 or 4 or RRS) and you dont buy this you are mad - it transforms the car and what it can do!! my brother was with me in his "LLMAS" equipped D3, equally impressed.

Thanks Graeme - you have improved a brilliant car and made it even better!!!!!!

need a little more height

Thanks for the great feedback and support guys. I'm really chuffed that you find it so useful. Ducking under fallen trees is something I hadn't envisaged though!
