Transmission fault traction reduced |
|
Hi
I should probably have done my research but now it's too late . After having done an engine wash (which was a huge mistake). The landrover (Disco 3 TDV6 5 Seat Base) started showing transmission fault traction reduced and I have also lost terrain response functionalities (special program is unavailable).
What can I do to fix this and could someone kindly explain what could have been affected?
Thanks.

My wife had the same problem with her Evoque. Turned out to be a dying battery. Changed the battery (under warranty) and the problem went away. Worth a shot to check voltage on battery as these are power hungry vehicles with all the electronics... Special programs off is often a sign of a low battery, however, if you have washed the engine bay could be damp ecu near battery.

Hi Mwinzi,
The tranmission ecu is located between battery and firewall. Take out the battery, disconnect the ecu and clean the connector with contact cleaner. Should be ok.
Are you in Nairobi?

Hi Guys.
Sorry for the late response, thanks for the replies. I haven't had a chance to deal with the car but based on your responses I think I will give it a shot and tell you how things go.
Hi Jonty, yes I am in Nairobi at the moment.
Cheers

Did you manage to sort it? Can give you contact details of a guy with proper LR diagnostic kit, if needed.
