Cubby Box Cooler Retrofit

Yes you can, Duckworths parts (Dan) was running a group buy a while back, you swap out the Cubby/ CD holder by removing a few screws and trim pieces to access the Cubby Altox GSM FBH controller thread

Took me about an hour but was taking it slowly. Plus it went in, out to look for the lost screw, back in, back out to figure out why my power cable was stopping me get the trim back in, then finally in again. And then I screwed the centre console bit in without the drip tray thingie. Then all well until I realised I had to put the phone mount back. Only then thought to check if the fridge worked. And lived on the ragged edge, didn't disconnect the battery as reasoned the wires wouldn't be like unless the ignition was on. So all in about an hour.

Less haste, less speed was my motto. Would have taken about half an hour. Was easy once I managed to get the sill chrome shoulder pad thingies off the cubby box lid hinge. Should have fed the untrained chimp more speed!!

I have a D3 about to scrap that has a cubby fridge. Will this fridge fit in my 2016 HSE I am about to pick up?
Does anyone know please?

As far as I know the D3 and D4 have a slight difference in how the fridge is controlled when the power goes off as well as a small difference in the power switch panel. The actual fridge dimensions are the same but I think the only issue comes if you fit a D4 fridge into a D3 as the power in a D3 is live permanently and the D3 fridge has a timed circuit to turn itself off when the power goes off the D4 just has a supply that is fed with ignition. From what I can recall the D3 fridge works OK in a D4. But a D4 Fridge in a D3 can flatten the battery if left switched on.Must stop buying shiny toys....
