My suspension are getting rusty as per the picture. Can I remose the rust and treat it or better to do nothing and wait for replament ?
Thanks for your kind advices.

mines are looking the same.
I guess this rusty part is only the outer shell of the gas shock. At least it does not have an impact on my suspension. However it signals me to change the shocks. After 10 years it is about time so.Achim

Hi!
The front shocks of my 2010 D4 looks exactly the same. No issues whatsoever but a bit worried that they will spring a leak sooner or later. No sure if its worth changing both as a preventive measure or wait until failure..
What did you end up doing?

design flaw IMHO since rears never suffer from it having proper rubber sleeve over it would be cool to have it on fronts
mine got like that after some 18 months and still iss same
works the charm so why spend dosh on something working OK
leave it till they start loosing pressure

I've brushed waxoyl over the rusty parts whenever I get the chance. Hasn't cured it, but it hasn't got any worse since I've owned the car (5 years)Richard

Mine were exactly the same, select off road height and use a small hammer and beat the rust off, make sure you get it all and none is trapped under the lip of the air bag, been fine since done.
