The Post Offices days are numbered IMHO but it is the role of the union to get the best pay and T's&C's for their members. Unions do recognise the shifting nature of any sector and want to work with the employer to lessen the impact of this not only on the employee but also the employer. They will not however accept the driving through of low pay deals and major T&C changes at the drop of a hat while management continue to earn large bonus's for poor performance. A strike represents failiure by all parties ...'ALL' being the operative word here.
I agree whole heartedly with this view Rich. The union is the employee of the employees. In the same way that I will drive the bargain that I want from my client's for my business a union is going to do all it can too. The difference is you need to keep the majority of the public on side if you are a public service. I see Unite have negotiated a deal whereas the CWU haven't and it is them striking. If the CWU the public off then they will all be the loosers and the increases they have already negotiated will be lost. Why is one union able to negotiate and the other isn't????DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

Different sectors within the organisation are represented Believe it or not but the management is unionised 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
"Comrades...... We 'The Management' have had enough of managerial incompetence and financial squander. We 'The Management' have paid ourselves ridiculous bonuses for poor performance. We 'The Management' are therefore going on strike until our union masters agree a better pay deal for 'The Management' in their negotiations with 'The Management'........"
