Amazing how many times people post on these forms who do not know the difference between break as in take a break and brake as in the device used to stop something. Also some of the grammar is shocking. Don't seem to know when to use was/ were and as for the use of sat.
NJSS' list reminds me of Molesworth, and Private Eye often use one of his best phrases: "as any fule kno".Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana

People are far to pedantic about grammar and to some extent spelling, it's a living language and it got to were it is by evolving, new words being invented etc.
Ps I am mildly dyslexic I dint misspell much as I have a spelling chequer on my peasee.==================================

Indeed. I find a lot of people don't understand what they are getting wrong here. Happens where the past tense and past participle are the same as in sat/sitting and stood/standing but people would never confuse "I was driven" (past tense past participle) with "I was driving" (past tense present participle) where the past tense is "I drove". The matching past tense verb seems to send people off, but I don't quite see why. Consequentially, I think this confusion has caused some to say "I was drove" which is, sort of, the reverse mistake - mixing past and past participle.
One can take the view that it doesn't matter, but personally, I value the more precise semantics our highly evolved language has to offer.
