AA!!!
Just went to take out European breakdown cover for my trip to Belgium this weekend, First I find you cant do it through your account using the details on the system, you have to start again, so did all that, applied for members discount, got to the end to find "Sorry – we can't find an AA membership number for the address you provided. Please go back to check your details,"!!
Errr, think that after 26 years I know where I live and that the AA would know where they have been sending our paperwork to for as long.!!!! What a farce!==================================

Just cancelled our membership after 30+ years - the renewal was quoted at over £340 for 'gold cover', yet we could get the same for just under £170 online. When I spoke with them about this they simply advised that 'everyone does it!'Currently 2009 Disco 3 SE, 2013 MY D4 HSE and 2016 D4 SE

Ours wont be getting renewed either, keep having to argue over the price, which they eventually reduce but RAC do much better caravan cover (through Camping and Caravan club) and its cheaper even having full European cover.==================================

My AA "gold cover" is up for renewal this week, quoted just under £300. Spoke to them on the phone and said their website price (albeit for a new subscriber) was £190. Offered a £74 discount!

I have the full repairing Gold cover where they pay the first £500 less £35 excess for any immobilising break down. I've had a battery and alternator as well as a suspension compressor, my daughters had a new battery. If I'd wanted to do the legwork I could have saved money but have so much on my plate at present I just couldn't fit it all in so I continue to pay for the cover at £44/month for mine and the kids cars (3). They each pay me £11/month and it works out I get cover for £11/month for my car. They've changed a few tyres for the kids and sorted my mates FL1 when the fuel pump connector burnt out whilst I was on board. When I took my car/caravan to Croatia for 5 weeks this year they wanted £385 to cover breakdowns abroad so went with Green Flag for £68 which gave very similar cover and lasts a whole year! They use the same agents as the AA when abroad and offer all the same cover including repatriation for car and van. Made both the AA and Red Pennant look like robbers.FFRR 2017 4.4SDV8 Autobiography. Cost so much I must be mad!

Well yo give them thier due I had a little dig on their Facebook page and they sorted out someone to call me and now all sorted, downside?updside is quoted £42 on the website, but what they don't mention on the websites is gold members get some days free so now only paying £20 which I wouldn't have got through the website!
Problem with most breakdown cover and caravans is although they will recover your caravan that's only if its attached to the car, With the caravan and camping club RAC cover not only will they fetch your van from the site, they will take your van to storage and the car to a garage or home and if you are on your way to the site will take you there and recover you at the end of your holiday, if you haven't got it repaired in the meantime. £153 for joint cover.==================================

Way round this is your name this year, cancel at end, wife's name next year, cancel at end
And repeat as often as necessary. As a new subscriber every year you'll get the cheapest price ( in theory)
Worked for me
D3 57 xs Stornaway grey
D2 02 commercial silver gone but a great servant and won't be forgotten
