Duratrac and ATR in 2016

Been happily running Duratracs for the last few years, but need to replace a couple and noticed a couple of things:

The cheap Duratracs at the moment are rated 111Q. Mine are 111S. Have Goodyear down-rated them or do they make two types?

Since I last bought ATRs, there seems to be a Land Rover homologated version, and some photos show a different tread pattern, with the same depth all the way across instead of being shallower on the shoulders as the used to be.

Does anybody know about the changes to either? Cheers, David

I've got two new 19" ATR's waiting for me at my tyre dealer. I'll report back with photos when I eventually get around to picking them up.

Re: Duratrac and ATR in 2016

Recently fitted 4 Duratracs and when searching for prices some dealers did not state Q or S rating - I ended up paying 129.00 each for the S rated versions so looks like there are 2 versions...

Bonatti Grey with Tundra, Duratracs, DISCO3 sticker, De-badged then rebadged in black, EGRs blanked - still saving for IC and BAS remap...

Sounds a bit like when Pirelli down-rated the 18" ATRs from H to T. I wonder if at the same time as the mos to the tread. Luckily NFU Ins happy with the change. Thumbs Up

That's what I was wondering. Difference is I'd be happy with S or T but Q is a bit low. Although if much more of the motorway network gets covered in 50mph limits it won't make much difference. Scotland to Wiltshire on Sunday wasn't much fun Big Cry

I'll need two new ones by the end of this October's Pyrenees trip, might come back via Andorra & try and pick up a couple on the cheap cheap.

I've just had 4 x 19" ATR's delivered from Camskill.

I'll check the tread and report back.

Why is the tread depth shallower on the outsides of the tread? Noticed that on two new Pirelli ATRs that were fitted last week

I don't actually know, but I'll guess that it makes the shoulders stronger.

I assume that as the tread isn't as deep and therefore should be the first section of the tyre to go bald, that these lie in the outer 15℅ of the 'must have 1.6mm within the centre 85℅'?
