2005 s manual with 107k , had it's clutch done at 90k by last owner because he towed a 23 ft caravan.
I personally prefer the manual. D3 05 S manual

Just got rid of my 2008 manual
125000 miles with only the detent circlip and a few xy resets
Dealer wanted to change the clutch at 70000 because of the epb warning coming up, read about the xy reset never came back again, so that was a fortune saved
I suspect many have been changed when not needed
Can take quite a bit of abuse as well, you should see the Missus reversing the horse trailer....and the smell
Previous 3 vehicles whilst she has had the horse all needed new clutch and flywheel after about 18 months
Obviously all failed whilst I was driving the cars, so it must be the way I drive There is no I in team, but there are five in Individual Brilliance
Disco gone, emigrated to a VW Amarok

A manual D3 is far from a poor drive or unreliable, but an auto suits the car much better My D3 Build Thread
Over 80K miles a true, 26.5 mpg - which is probably 1.5 to 3 mpg better than an auto.Am I Gammon or Woke ? - I neither know nor care.

apparently when the D3 came out the manual gearbox's were 1K more to buy than the auto's, might try an auto next time but happy with my manual for now .last year on our trip don to Cornwall travelling through the night cruise control set at 60 mine showed 33mpg
Mines showing 33mpg after all this time if driven sensibly

Our first D3 was a manual.
I paid quite a bit north of a grand for a new clutch a month or so before crashing it and writing it off.
I'm happier with the auto on the D3 even though I generally prefer manuals but that's not to say there was anything inherently wrong with the manual, just felt the engine was better matched to the auto.
mpg was a bit better with the manual but not such that it worried me either way.Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto
