New Disco Owner: Front Arm Rear Bush Deteriorated

Hi,

My first post...I am so sorry if this has been asked before!

Just brought my first Disco 3 - great car, love it! However, just been in for a service and the garage reports back:

"Front Arm Rear Bush Deteriorated"
"inner track rod OSF slight play"
"Inner track rod OSR slight play"

Looking on the old MOT's it's also had the following advisory items:

001 Nearside front (wishbone bush) suspension arm has slight play in pin/bush
002 Offside front (wishbone bush) suspension arm has slight play in pin/bush

I presume the advisory's in the old MOT relate to what the garage have said / above?

Looking through the forum this is quite common (the car does weigh allot!)

any friendly hints on what parts need replacing?

I am a competent "DIY" person and love working on things (have built various motorbikes)

Is this a sort of thing I could do at home? any thoughts?

Am I best to order an after market ARM / bushes? are the better than OEM?

Sorry about the questions, love the car and sadly getting excited!

Simon

Not the most difficult job
I got the RR ones from advanced factors
You will need to get a 4 wheel reallignment after fitting
Do the control arms at the same time and it will feel like a different car
There is no I in team, but there are five in Individual Brilliance

Disco gone, emigrated to a VW Amarok

Have a look here,

http://www.advancedfactors.co.uk/front-sus...-139-c.asp

gives you an idea on prices (its good gear from Top forum sponsor Wink ) Do a search on here for guidelines, make sure you mark the bolt positions to assist in reassembly prior to 4 wheel alignment, also be advised the rear bush bolt will almost certainly have seized and require cut, that being said, it's not a bad job and very DIY Thumbs Up
If you get stuck or you're unsure, just ask on here, help will come 8)
