EPB replacement shoes
Just finished doing epb shoes
My problems and fixes
Drivers side had little wear on shoes but the epb lever was seized being my first ever go took a bit of time renewed shoes with anti seize grease on all points
Passenger side was harder striped down easy but the shoes were on metal seemed strange so I rebuilt as per bodsys instructions
The shoes just would not meet on the stops looked and looked head scratching
It looked like the cable was not long enough so got to thinking if the shoes on metal I wondered had the cable seized anyway put the new shoes back on and forced the disc on about half way put in the fuse heard a motor noise turned epb on off kept it off while turning ignition off pulled the fuse
Happy days cable reset disc went on no problem adjusted shoes no problem all refited and tested epb works brakes work just need to bed the shoes and hopefully all sorted
Cheers Henda

That's where the IID is invaluable, setting the EPB into "mount" position My D3 Build Thread

It's the GAP product for plugging into the computer interface port so that you can test control reset update all the kit they are sponsors on this site Mikey has the professional version. Which is also Bluetooth so that you can use an iPad screen rather than the dash screen.

Hi
I need to ask, did you set the brakes up correctly, by manually adjusting the star ratchet adjuster during reassembly before trying to then follow the bedding in procedure?
If you did not do that - then you will probably find it is out of adjustment, hence the screeching.
If you have not read this - then Bodsy has created a complete instruction procedure for the D3 brakes, and from many happy members on here - everyone could confirm this works without issue if you follow all the steps.

Hello mate I did have bother with the passenger side but both sides were adjusted
When trying to bed them in after 4 or 5 attempts that's when the sqeeling started
My first job will be trying to readjust the shoes again hope fully that'll do the trick It may have been me panicking because the bedding in is quite a severe process and the vehicle was stopping very quickly but I am new to the site and a new disco 3 owner so when up on stands I might as well do a major sevice
I will not be beaten
