In defence of Jim, the OP, I doubt it's a personal thing between you and the scammers. Your car was never for sale by them, they have just used your photos probably uploaded from here.
For me, this is another reason to not show details of your number plate when posting perfectly innocent photos of your car.
Maybe we should all think about this before uploading pics to our accounts. Mods:

That's good and well Narpy,
But I don't know how to edit out the number plate, apart from sticking a bit of paper over it before taking a pic D3 57 xs Stornaway grey

Open the picture with paint, or some other editing program and paint out the number plate digits.
Then save it and post as normal.

Try this website Alan.
https://www.canva.com
Fairly intuitive, you upload your picture and add elements to it. Just add a box around the number plate and fill it in the same colour as your car or flowers or whatever you like.
It's free unless you use any of the charged bits but you will see what they are easily enough.

So, in reply to my e mails asking for a phone number and offering full asking price, for what in effect is my own car, I have now received the below.
--------------------------------------------22
Dear Customer,
Our colleague Jennifer Huber has informed us that you are interested in buying the vehicle: 2005 Land Rover Discovery 3 Tdv6, price £5,300 GBP.
This price includes the vehicle's price, the delivery costs and a set of winter tires. We would like to remind you that the seller has already paid for our services in advance so you don't have to pay any hidden fees.
First of all, we want to inform you that the vehicle is in our warehouse from Rostock, Germany sealed and ready to be delivered to your address.
The vehicle has been inspected by our certified inspectors along with all its documents. The vehicle was never involved in any accident and no report of stolen vehicle was claimed on it. The car is in perfect condition inside and outside.
Since you are a first time customer, please allow us to make you a short description of who we are and what we do.
Please click here to view our about us page.
We have attached to this e-mail: a copy of the vehicle's Inspection Report, provided by our certified department;
Please reply to this e-mail to confirm that you agree with the vehicle's overall condition.
Thank you!

Very convincing eh? And I bet that some poor sod out there has probably been taken in by it all.

So, I received the below e mail in reply
----------------------------------------------
Dear Customer,
You can call us at the following phone number : +4930 2241 4565
Thank You !

-----------------------------
I phoned Karen who sounded either Indian or Pakistani, and asked her several questions about "my" car. She assured me that it was in fantastic condition and that if I wasn't happy with it for any reason I could return it within 5 days for a full refund, which included all shipping charges from and back to Germany.
I ended by asking her if she was anywhere near the car. She told me that she was stood right next to it and that it looked very good.
I then told her that the car actually belonged to me and I was in fact stood next to it on my driveway and that I couldn't see her any f*****g where!
Silence, followed by the phone being slammed down.......
Karen now doesn't want to answer her phone???
It has turned out to be a real fun Bank Holiday Monday!

Jim, best to leave this where it is now I would think.
You're probably dealing with some rather nasty individuals, who are involved in some very unsavoury activities with direct links to organised crime.
I personally would leave it there. Mods:
