Hi all had a strange phone call from Land Rover Exeter who ask how I found the experience when I made an visit to the show room 2 months ago and why did I not purchase a car from them .I told the chap that I had since been into Taunton Land Rover and could get a brand new car for only 7k more with a 3 year warranty, his dealership was offering for a 3 year old model with 20k miles with a 2 year warranty for 7 grand less ? he replied yes it was bit of a no brainer and perhaps the dealership needed to look at its used car pricing policy .I then asked what did he think that D5 would do to D4 prices he thought that D4 would stay at the type of price level currently achieved what do you think please

I too got a call from a lady at a local LR dealer asking why I hadn't purchased a D4 from them after visiting them & taking a test drive.
I told her politely that I was still waiting for the dealer to send me answers to some questions I'd asked but not to worry about it now as I'd gone to another dealer & bought a D4 from them.
The call was in March this year - I had visited them in March 2015... D4 - Stornoway Grey
D2 V8 - Zambesi Silver (rust free JDM import 😎)

Had the same from Listers Droitwich in Oct last year after I'd visited/enquired about new D4. Given the sale guy couldnt be bothered to call me back with the info I needed and a price, I went elsewhere to buy my new D4.
They seem to think that by making a call it satisfies their customer quality process

Matford and TLR are part of the same company but the two branches are miles apart in terms of customer service. I only go to Matford to browse and then purchase from TLR. A few years ago I went into Matford intent on buying a new Disco. I went to reception and the woman there (in a very plummy voice) asked me if I had an appointment. I looked around the showroom and observed three salesmen at their desks and not another customer in sight. I left.

Hi Bill spot on Exeter a big No No for me Taunton and Yeovil totally different feel to them, but I do think that their used prices are very strong but then I guess that the girl with the plummy voice will be high maintenance  ,I have been offered a new Graphite today for £7000 more than I was asked for 2013 XS with 20k miles ,the XS that Exeter offered me is way to much money in my book Land Rover 90 - deceased
