On a GS its best to run a feed to the Aux Circuit - there are threads on here how to do it, easiest would be with the plate and 12v supply taped under the centre console and fit the genuine parts to it new the 2 parts you need are around £45.00 from a dealer XV05000020 and YXW500070PVJ were the part numbers from Rimmer Bros when I bought, however they are often on a certain auction site for around £15 usedMust stop buying shiny toys....

I actually had the SE model, i have contacted a local in ICE specialist who have quoted £150 to install a lighting cable from the aux to the centre console

On my D3 GS I have the Land Rover Audio Connectivity (ACM) module fitted which gives a 30pin iPod connector in the top glove box along with RCA and USB connections. I connect my iPhone 6 via a lightning to 30 pin iPod adapter (the Apple one with the short cable is best) and it all works perfectly. The ACM is about £200 or so but gives a great audio connection solution if you need one. This will also work with the steering wheel buttons if you have them fitted (if you don't have them fitted you can fit them very easily).
A cheaper option if you don't care about the steering wheel buttons is to use a standard iPod to audio (RCA) connection lead (along with a lightning to 30 pin adapter) and connect this directly to any AUX input you may already have (back of centre console?). If you don't have any AUX input (GS model doesn't) or for a neater solution then you can connect directly into the wiring loom behind the passenger side footwell and run a cable into the lower glove box, plenty on here about how to do this try http://disco3.co.uk/forum/topic17945.html?highlight=AUX+Audio
Hope that helps...

P.S. ACM option will also supply power via the iPod/lightning connection. Direct connection will not obviously...
