Front parking sensors retrofit on GS |
|
I've bought a 14+ bumper and was going to blank the parking sensor recesses. How much effort would it be to retrofit oem sensors?

If the loom is present is it plug and play or is there splicing jiggery pokery involved?
In terms of checking for the loom is it a case of removing bumper to check or can I go off the VIN/ model?

To check if the connector is present, remove the right hand headlamp. If you see an empty connector there (there should be 2 connectors, one for the fog lamps) you're in luck. You just need to buy the extra loom, the sensors and mounts.
*edit* and to activate, you'll your local friendly IIDTOOL owner to update the CCF to show that the front sensors are installed.

etuna - again, i'm interested how you get on with this
Are you thinking about any extra controls on the console to switch these sensors on/off as we don't have them on the GS - much to my annoyance whenever I have the bike rack on!
cheers
