Sorry, missed this.
Best way is to run the cable under the top lip of the tailgate, down the gully on the nearside of the car staying outside the tailgate seal and bringing it to the grommet where you run trailer electrics etc. into the car (behind the NSR light). Run the cable in here and that brings it into the NSR storage space. You can then bring it out of here and run it forward under the carpet until you are at the front of the car.
Or, if you're lazy like me, run it under the top lip of the tailgate, tape a drip-loop into it when just below the level of the load cover and run it across the tailgate seal into the car, hiding it under the cra p in the boot before tucking it under the floor mats, popping up next to the CD storage in the centre console. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

By a strange coincidence my ebay CB gear arrived today, so I'll be routing cables all over the place this weekend too.
The aerials I've got are quite long... is there an effective short one for external mounting (equivalent to a rubber duckie)?
... please bear in mind that I'm a complete CB numptie - havent used one since 1983 Long succession of Disco's since 2001...

Thunderpole do a shorter version of their base-loaded spring antenna (Orbitor) called called the Trucker 80 http://www.thunderpole.co.uk/trucker80.htm
I'm probably going to change my orbitor for one of these. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
