I had the ones with plastic rubbers and were rubbish.
Had the ones with "clever" suction cup on mirror allowing you adjusting the viewing angle while towing without opening the windows - utterly useless and dangerous.
I will not be changing the current ones.
BTW: I have towed the van without extra mirrors once as I haven't realised it and viewing field wasn't obstructed much as van was similar width as Disco. Do it at your own risk.

Land Rover part nimber is.VPLVT0080, THULE are land rover's preferred supplier so they may be available on their web site. I entered land rover towing mirrors part number VPLVT0080 and bingo pictures of mirrors. Denis. :

Did the mod tonight as suggested in an earlier post with a sleeve of old inner tube stretched very tightly over the lower clamp. Worked brilliantly. Grand Aeros with standard clamps now fixed on very securely indeed, so no worries about going away this weekend with the van now. Thanks for the tip

Happy to confirm the bicycle inner tube mod works perfectly, my Milenco Aero towing mirrors fixed securely and stayed on for hundreds of miles, even into a 50mph headwind on Sunday.
Thanks for the top tip

Ditto. Been away twice since I did the inner tube mod and no issues or worries about mirror detachment whatsoever

Followed the tip to put a piece of inner tube rubber on the bottom of the clamp, mirror's never budged at all while towing.

I went for the genuine LR ones. They are superb. I didn't bother fitting mirrors before but these work so well and are easy to fit I use them everytime.
Well worth the money in my opinion.

I phoned the LR garage, gave them my reg plate 16 discovery. He said they don't do wing mirror extensions for the later disco's. They only do them up to 14. He added, a customer with a 16 plate (new shaped wing mirrors) bought them and brought them back. So he's been advised not to supply them for 16 plates
Milenco emailed me to say their Aero 3'S fit perfectly on the 16 disco new shaped mirror. Presume everybody using the tyre tube modification are not using Aero 3's. ?
Cheers
George
Picking up my caravan on Sunday- need to make a call this week, I wouldn't mind paying extra for LR but seems that's not advised
