D4 battery - how much????
I have just been quoted over £250 for a new battery for a 2012 Disco 4 3.0 sdv6. I must admit I have never heard of such an expensive battery.
Is this right?Disco 4 2012 HSE 3.0 SDV6, Santorini black, Ebony leather, privacy, 20" 5 spoke alloys, tow bar

That's the LR battery, gel gam type and us the best for the d4 tbh.
There are other cheaper gel batteries out there. Mine will be due soon and i'll almost certainly get the or one tbh.Bodsys Brake Bible

Problem is I need it today, so am a bit limited to dealer part. I've tried charging the current battery, but it just isn't having it. The car doesn't do many miles (under 20k in 3 1/2 years) and is often not used from one weekend to the next, so the best option is probably the original part.

No problem - it was recommended to me on here - I couldn't justify giving my local LR £1 let alone £250D4 2010 HSE Santorini Black

Follow the instructions, allow the vehicle to sleep, remove and replace battery and then get the battery monitoring system reset with a suitable diagnostic tool. Always worth getting a new battery on a few long conditioning charges to achieve best capacity and life.

I need a new battery for my D4, been getting a few low battery warnings the last few cold mornings. have charged with ctek but has not helped much
I have seen this one recommended a few times on here >http://www.justcarbatteries.co.uk/index.php/car-batteries/bosch-car-batteries/bosch-agm-s6-car-batteries/s6013-s6002-bosch-silver-019agm-battery.html
If I put this on I know I will have to reset the battery monitoring via IID but will I need to change any other settings to allow for AGM ?

Get it on a good conditioning charge, then fit it, then change the CCF for the AGM charging profile (lower voltage) and reset the battery monitoring.

The vehicle will then do some interesting things to learn the battery charge and discharge rates and state of charge estimation.
The one pictured on my bench above will be doing the same shortly, albeit in an RRS 8-speed.
