D4 steering wheel info please
Hi D4 people I am looking at a D4 at a main dealer's and asked the salesman if the paddles are an option or standard he could not tell me ,I have tried Google but am struggling to find the answer ,any help most welcome

if its 8 speed...ie a knob it will have paddles as far as I know..how else would you do manual changes

IIRC Its standard on the MY2012 8 speed boxes with the rotary gear lever (see below).

The earlier D4 models can only have them by buying a new steering wheel and then a mod that has been detailed on a thread on this forum. So is possible

As far as I read the discoverys with the name of the model on the front instead of landrover are the newer models and should have flappy paddles on them as standard unless it's manual along with a few added extras but it is possible to retro fit them as one site member has doneGod created heavy armour on 06 sept 1916, on the 7th the devil stood to attention!

Thanks so much all, it looks like the forum users seem to knows more about D4's than Land Rover salesman that I met. The reason for my question I found the paddles were in the poorly sited for me when driving holding the steering wheel at a 9 to 3 position

found them more troublesome when offroad..with the wheel going from side to side....how you would manage in the dark is another question.
