It won't be in the handbook, that's for sure!
It is just the simple matter of cutting it open along the join line, bunging in a new cell and either transferring the innards to a new key fob (if it is a bit tatty) or glueing the old one back together.

Always worth the effort to save a few £s. But I was pleasantly surprised that my local Indy provided a genuine brand new key and paired it to my D3 for much less that I anticipated.
£120 all in, much more than a new battery I know but you do get a new shiny key fob that works 100%. I also didn't trust myself to make a nice neat job of changing the battery over.
They just needed my log book for proof of ownership and the vin number.Discovery 4 HSE

D3 has a rechargeable battery, D4 is a replaceable one.

You drive a D4, so the rechargeable key for the D3 is unlikely to feature in your handbook.
Thanks for the roll-eyes.
