Full Throttle to move backward
So my 2014 D4 has given me almost 2 years of fault free motoring, recently however when putting the car into reverse i need to apply almost full throttle before it will move, it then shoots off a bit too fast..
Anyone had this before? Dealer visit?
I have similar in my 6sp MY11, but put that down to the gearbox not engaging the gear properly (something to do with re-greasing a selector pin apparently ), or me not putting my foot on the brake or the car stopping enough before selecting gear...but that's a 6sp not 8sp like yours.
So all of that's probably no help to you whatsoever

Is your park brake sticking ?
often when it's been raining (or I have washed the car an let it sit for a bit) my park brake does not disengage properly if I try to reverse away. If I pull forward a couple of inches then reverse all is well.
My D3 did the same and I think quite common.
may be completely unrelated to your issue but thought i'd mention it.Also Gone : MY14 D4 SDV6 HSE : Barolo Black + Almond
Sadly Gone : MY08 D3 TDV6 HSE : Stornoway + Alpaca + Privacy + BAS Remap
Have a look at my thread from a few months back (http://www.disco4.com/forum/topic132628.html) and see if it sounds familiar. I'm afraid I can't tell you how the mechanics of the 8sp linkage differs from the 6sp, but there's also a link to a thread from Disco_Mikey that offers a fix!

Its not the parking brake as i have not ever used it , its strange almost as if its in neural then works out its in reverse and goes backward, my old D3 used to start moving as soon as i took my foot off the brake pedal...
