OK, just got the car back from RK in Tamworth after owning it for 10 days and it being in the garage for 8 of them I've had my first repair invoice - £4k in the firsr two weeks - Arrgggg
But seriously, I was expecting £3k and knew this when I bought it but a few spanners in the spokes as they say, a new oil pump and almost a complete rear end as some dickwad tried to fix a rear wheel bearing by smashing the ring onto the ball bearings and tightening the nut upto about 750nms in an attempt avoid replacing it
So
New Torque Converter
Cambelt service
Oil Pump
Rear Prop
Upgraded Autobox sump
Rear Bearing
Rear Knuckle
Rear Driveshaft
Rear Hub Flange (Love that word)
Rear Mud Sheild
Rear Tie Rod

Don't really think that was too bad all things considered, just hope its plain sailing now but I fear I may be delusional

Owned mine for just over 2 years......spent so far:
Fuel = £5,881
Non-Fuel = £7,421

Take away £1,000 on Tax and £600 on Insurance for 2 years and that leaves approx £5,800 spent on repairs & servicing Shocked

They are indeed expensive little Censored to keep on the road Big Cry

Eeeek... what a stubborn fool hardy bunch we are... £2400 on mine so far this year excluding rear diff which dealer paid for.. most of it preventative... I think my signature sums it up...

At least as a temporary resident in SA with £'s in pocket, road licence is £100.00 fuel £0.55p a litre equates to <10 pence per mile.
Owning a Discovery 3 is like dating a model.. a firm body and shape, wow.. the ride is fantastic >Very Happy for this your wallet can take a pounding and you worry about being deflated at any time...
