Pulling to the left

Hi Guys,

My D3 is pulling to the left since I had my rims repaired and LTZ's fitted which I bought from a forum member part worn, could lower tread be a problem and should I try to swap the wheels around?

I have had the tracking done today and while it was out a little the guy at the garage siad it wasn't enough to make it happen. The front tyres are the same pressure.

When it pulls to the left my steering wheel seems to be straight and I constantly have to keep it right of center to keep it straight on the road but also when I am on a flat road instead of camber it seems to stay straight.

Could there be a fault with the steering angle sensor? Would it be time to invest in a iid bt?

Have you checked if there is any play in the inner track rod ends, where they go into the steering rack? There is a natural tendency to pull to the left on steeply cambered roads which is normal but even a small amount of play in the track rods exaggerates the amount of steering lock that you have to apply to correct it.

Mine was doing exactly the same up to a few weeks ago and 2 new track arms and outer track rod ends cured it completely, the amount of play on mine was very small and at the most would have been subject to an advisory at MOT, possibly not even that.

1997 Defender 90 for the kids and I to have a go at some competitive off road RTV and Tyro trials, daughter picked up her first trophy over the August Bank Holiday.

Not checked much yet, waiting for ideas I have just had an mot and the only real problem at the front was an advisory for a wheel bearing.
