fbh a/c question
does anyone know if turning the a/c econ on (so its off) has any effect on the fbh working as i scanned today and pulled code B1B78-84 which says my system pressure is low
i was going to have it regassed this summer but it seemed to be working ok so never bothered but it was -3 this morning so its prob borderline low as i normally turn it off in winter but i have been trying to see if my fbh would work better with it off (running a/c compressor) as its been quite intermitent (worked yesterday at +4 but failed to start today at -3 grrr)
any wisdom greatfully accepted or should i just be pleased when it does decide to work thanksplease excuse any grammer/punctuation mistakes,i'm thick, thankyou

The aircon makes no difference to the FBH so it will run normally in Econ mode.
Not that Econ mode completely turns the aircon off either....
Anyway, get the system gassed before it becomes a very expensive repair. The system needs the mix of refrigerant and oil to stop it beating itself to death.

thanks robbie will try to get it gassed this week,do you know if the code just relates to it needing a regas,i have never seen that code before and as i said i normally turn it off for the winter (im ready to be flamed lol) never had any probs turning off for winter,i find the windscreen does not steam up so much with it off even though the a/c has a dehum effect the moisture from the evap has to go some where when you switch off please excuse any grammer/punctuation mistakes,i'm thick, thankyou

Are you sure you actually turn the AC off rather than Econ.
As I said, the aircon is still running in Econ mode and the compressor itself spins no matter what you do as it is belted directly to the engine.
If the system thinks the pressure is low then it either is or the sensor is bust.

Unless they changed the software if you turn off climate the FBH won't kick in. It is not to really to heat the engine it is a supplementary heater for the cabin, hence why when climate is off there is no demand.
