ISTR the TSB fix doesn't show a requirement for that ...the issue relates to the mounting plate that surrounds the seatbelt anchor in the b pillar ....the fix is to drill out the welds and replace ...it should require nothing more than removing the b pillar trims for access.

The opening up off the seams with a chisel is one of the fixes for B pillar rattle on Discovery Sport, its not the recommended fix for D4, get onto CRC and complain.

Since they opened the seam there has been no creaking at all. So far around 1500miles on various road types and temperatures. Honestly, I couldn't care less that a bit of the car that you can't see unless you dismantle it is now less pretty. The car doesn't creak, which did annoy me. If the noise comes back, I will complain, until then I am happy with the fix. Will update if creak returns_______________

Iv'e a big hammer and a chisel you can borrow
Make sure they actually carried out the fix, as first dealer which didn't sort the rattle said they did, kept the car for a week but when checked they did not actually carry out the repair as they said they did. We should have a post somewhere to name and shame dealers that provide poor service_______________

Just had mine back from having this done. Small metal shards from drilling out the old adjuster fittings found between the seats and it would appear that they have done a small amount of spray work as well. No more rattles so far.
Shame that they have somehow torn the seatbelt though and left loads of marks on the headliner!!!!! It's now got to go back in for a new seatbelt and properly cleaning the headliner.

I suggested to my local dealership (in Cornwall) - that maybe the TSB wasn't carried out as prescribed by their bodyshop in Devon......
So, when it went in for its first ever service last week or so ago - they said they had booked in a local welder to carry out the work...... just in case.....
Welder not required apparently as they could see the TSB had been done by the 'ground down' bolts or some such....
So thats where we are with it - may have to put an ear plug in my right ear or take a chisel to the whole lot as suggested....
Those who have had the TSB done, I would suggest - don't hold your breath - you may find the creak/ticking will appear again at certain temperatures/humidity..... its all rather random.... for me anyway!2016MY Discovery HSE - Black
