Calling manual D3 owners
I know my profile says D4 but I believe I'm asking the right people
The clutch peddle on my D4 squeaks when I press it down and it's getting worse ..... it doesn't do it when you let the peddle back up.
I've tried my best to apply WD40 to the peddle, it's not very accessible, but it's made no difference
The car is booked in for the towbar recall in December and if necessary I'll get it looked at but wondered if anybody here had any experience/suggestions as it bl@@dy annoying.Nick

Turning the volume up on the radio sorted mine!
Seriously though, I squirted GT85 in there using the straw as best I could to direct the spray and it solved it.

WD40 has probably worked its way through to the squeak.

thank god for that, I thought it was just mine seriously though, got our D3 in January and it squeaked, then it disappeared, but it's just come back this last couple of weeks or so. I wondered if it was because may be we've got the heater blasting away now and it's made some rubber part stiffer (now now, come on, we're all grown ups) causing it to squeak, all through the summer it's been fine. just a thought.

I find lithium grease spray works best for this kind of squeak. It gets into the joint as a liquid but then solidifies and stays put, long term. Went for a job as a human cannonball. Not the right calibre.

It may be that the clutch support is starting to break down, it is not very common failure but there have been some cases. Disassembly for repair by welding is not complicated. Substitution of a complete set is expensive, about 400 €, because LR does not sell stand isolated. I hope some photos, in the Spanish DISCOVERY forum, can help you to see if you are in this case:
... these links, sorry because they are in Spanish, you will have to use a translator...or not
Cheers lost in translation!

I have just spent the last hour upside down in the drivers footwell of my car, I can tell you it's not a fun experience
However I cannot see any cracks & the PTFE silicon spray seems to have done the trick as I now have a silent clutch pedal.
It's a bu**er to get to so if the need arises I recommend training a small child in the use of aerosol cans and sending them into do the job ..... unless of course it is your hip/knee, a small child won't help in that case.
...... I'm the safeguarding officer for my other car club, I think I might just have been fired Nick
