Central locking
Hi, I have a 2006 D3 tdv6 and am having trouble with the central locking. The problem only started today and the fault is that the front near side and rear near side doors will not lock or unlock with the central locking. I can open the back door by holding open the black lever and pressing the unlock door on the dashboard. Unfortunately this does not work on the front near side door so I can not open this door at all, I've read a few posts about the door catch and splicing wires etc but to do any of these checks I need to open the door. How can I open the door?

Weather permitting I'm going to have a look at this today. Any pointers where I should start? I'm thinking its a wiring fault rather than the door catch as it seems strange that both near side doors should go faulty at the same time and both were working fine until the heavy rain we've just had. Both off side and rear doors lock and unlock fine. Is there a shared wiring link between the near side doors?

Can anyone point me in the right direction to a wiring diagram for the central locking?

I'm sure they are on here somewhere, but if you PM me an email address and I'll email you a wiring diagram later this evening when I'm home.

Hi Ironman1505 - I too have a 2006 D3 and have had two separate instances where either the front pax or the driver locks have either failed to open or not locked on key press.
I resolved both issues by removing the door cards and applying lubricant to the cable from the internal door release point. I think that the cable may slowly bind with age/use. This happened about two years ago now and I have not been hassled by the locks working intermittently since.

The old girl is on her third engine...
* first ran a bearing (design failure in original engine)
* second had a failure of the water outlet on top of the engine (pls check yours)

The weather here is terrible at the moment so I'm not going to get chance to have a look just yet
