Short answer - no. Sad

Try Dan @ Duckworth or Dave @ Yeovil LR, but they will need to see documents etc. Thumbs Up

I recently bought a spare for my D3 from Timpsons (although they order it direct from LR, of course) as they were marginally more convenient than the LR dealer and slightly cheaper.

The guy at Timpsons winced almost as much as me when he got the price on the screen and volunteered to discount it to £225 or so. I can't remember what the full price was but recall it being on a par with the LR dealer price (~£250ish?).

I understand that only some Timpsons do chipped keys but the one I used was at Tesco at Ashby.

The key was bought as a spare as only one was supplied when I bought the car a few weeks earlier - the irritating thing was that, a week after buying the spare, the garage 'found' the second key and posted it to me - I now have three keys. Grrrrr Mad

£225 is still eyewatering but since LR have the supply stitched up I was happy to get anything better than dealer prices!

A cut and progrmmed key is £130-140. Add £50 max to that for pairing (£25 or £30 is more like it). Thumbs Up

Have you checked if all three keys work......? Or did they program them to the car as well?

I'm fairly sure they all work. Although, having not touched the third key for a month or two you've put a seed of doubt in my mind now!

No... thinking back I'm fairly sure I checked them all at the time . The only thing that confused me (but I didn't bother investigating further) was that the memory seat to key pairing (HSE Very Happy ) didn't function as I was expecting it to but this was always a nice to have so wasn't too much of an issue.

Why do you ask? If it's ref the Timpsons one, yes they did pair it - I (and my car) had to be there and he plugged his magic box of tricks in to it... all done in the comfort of the Tesco car park!

All keys have to be present during pairing to remain active, so if one was missing... Wink

Guess what I'm going to be checking when I get home! Shocked

Either way, it's not like I need three keys. Even if it doesn't work I'll probably leave it and only get it paired if I end up losing one of the others.

Thanks for the info though!
