New key. No security information held at LR

So I lost my key a while back. After a few false starts I now know that key comes from LR programmed. Nothing else will do.

So, leaving the job till kids loose the final key and I'm stuffed. I order a new one.

Luckily the last key turns up, BUT we still need the new one, no drama.

Tried to program the key today at a garage, nothing, 'no security information present' the electronic box says.

I am lead to believe that LR lost some of the early Disco security information (and mines an early one for sure)

When the garage phoned to ask why they sent a key out without any information programmed they said "Because we don't have any information on that vehicle", Great, you when was I meant to find that out then? When I program obviously!!

So I'm now waiting for LR to come back to the garage with any information they have as to the next step, while pushing them for a payment. Cheeky b@stards.

Again, has this happened to any early disco owners?

Tim

Can you not get a forum sponsor to programme it for you?

There are known cases of very, very early D3s which could not have a key programmed on them. These were P3 vehicles (final prototype stage). I would assume all production vehicles to be in LRs database.

A case for Pete@landrover maybe?

Sorted

So second key sorted it.

TBH We don't really know they whys and whats however after speaking to a guy somewhere deep in land rover a new key was dispatched and it worked.

If anyone hits the same issue PM me and Ill put you in touch with the garage that sorted it, at least he'll know the right to the person in talk to.

Moving onto next crisis, a KA tried to mate with it on the way to school this morning!!![/u]
