Yep cheers for that Madrilleno, I should have read all of your post.

I've had a good look at the pics and on the whole they do look pretty good. A few observations; the welds don't look great and a few of the holes appear visible behind the washers. Are the holes too big would you say?

The welds are OK, but they haven't been fettled afterwards. I know the manufacturer is a well established fabricator/welder, but there is only so much you can do and still make a profit at £200.
He has made parts for other LR models and I'm led to believe that these are well received.

No, I don't think the holes are too large, they are the same size as the Prospeed ones. There has to be some wiggle room to allow for variations in manufacture of the vehicles themselves.

They look good for the money, can't see anyone getting anything made any better as cheap I'll be taking a set.

I can weigh and measure next week, but they are over 2m long and must be around 75kg.

This thread was an expression of interest rather than a group buy.
The last time I spoke to Carl, he said he would do a special price if we had 10 or more sets. The price would then be £200 a set delivered to most of the U.K., or £180 collected from Shirebrook in Notts. Since he isn't a site sponsor, I'm not sure how we would do a group buy. I'm sure Martin would want a site donation which would increase the price slightly, but at anywhere round £200 they're well worth the money, IMHO.

How easy are these sliders to fit?

And do they also work as side steps?

Thanks

They are easy to fit. You remove the trim running along the sill. The trim is held on with press fasteners and a couple of self tapping screws. The clips usually break, but they are not needed when the sliders are on. If you ever want to replace the trim, you can buy the clips cheaply from AF.

Then after cleaning the area, bolt them on. I would suggest applying a thin (1mm) self adhesive foam rubber strip to the back of the sliders at the top and bottom before bolting them on to help keep dirt out. Also apply copper grease to the bolts to facilitate easy removal later. I also sprayed the area where the sliders fit with Dinitrol anti-corrosion.

Should take about 30 minutes for the first one, 20 for the second when you know what you're doing.

Group buy is here: http://disco3.co.uk/forum/topic144829.html
