Fuel gauge always showing 3/4full

I cleaned the intank fuel pump and since I done the job when tank is empty it is still reading 3quarter full then slowly rises to full,it was Woking fine before hand

Im not sure how the d3 one works but thinking if its on an arm like motors of old maybe you have caught it somehow, of if its the newer type have you somehow damaged the wires running to the sensor?

It's a 54plate, it is an arm with a float on the end, when I put it back together I was lifting it up and down to make sure it was not catching and it seamed ok

Could it be flipped 180 degs out, that would explain the back to front readings?

Possibly could be, looks like the tank is coming back off for another look
