Does the orientation of the Front Side Lights matter , should I tickle with that or not ? I recovered a LED bulbs but feel like I could switch direction of the bulb , would that help. Thanks.

It is not that. At orientation , that I have , they don't shoot light sideways ,but more towards front, which is not needed in my case as Xenons cover that front pretty efficiently .I thought, that I could turn the bulb 45% , but I don't know if it is worth doing..

Just had a second bulb fail. Notified Advanced Factors. Think I will give up on these.

Alan, that sounds like a right pain. Which light position have you been using for these and are there any external signs of failure when they let go?Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

They are in the sidelight of the headlamps. The passenger side has been fine but its the drivers side that appears to have failed twice. I had LED bulbs in both sidelights before with no problems so I dont suspect the drivers side headlamp is causing the failures. I only noticed when I put the car in the garage tonight and its hissing down now. I will take headlamp out tomorrow and check the bulb is seated correctly. The main LED in the bulb is out but the two sideways pointing LEDs seem to be illuminated but only dim.

I've noticed that the grounding on the driver's side is not as good as the passenger side. I'm a systems guy so I will leave that to a EEE to understand the potential effects on an LED as it makes my head hurt.

I recall once getting called onto shop floor to look at a Tornado ...."come sort your software fault thats causing the HSI needles to flicker!"....guess what...it turned out to be an earthing problem related to a wiring loom moving when the radome was opened.
