No shorts between any of the wires, so i think the loom is good. The sensors are now out and basking in the sun to see if they will dry out Laughing

in the end i bought 4 new sensors, replaced them last weekend and all ok now. At least i can now removed the bumber cover in about 15 minutes and get it all back together in 50 minutes

i think i will try to diagnose which sensor was failing and keep the rest as spares

Glad it's sorted. Thumbs Up Why not post the 3 resistances between wire-pairs for future reference? For a good sensor and a bad one. Thumbs Up

What does a continuous higher pitched sound from the rear parking sensors and flashing dashboard switch/light indicate?
Faulty sensor, broken wires or ecu issue?
Thanks

Hi Robbie. The problem was intermittent and was showing faults on two of the sensors. I thought it was perhaps the wiring but checked that out for breaks and shorts. In the end I decided my time was more valuable than £24 for an extra two sensors and replaced all.

I also need to be mindful how much time I spend under the D3 as this weekend I am replacing all 6 flexible brake hoses and both front calipers. SWMBO does like to spend some time with me

I have a higher pitched clicking from one of mine but it is a BMW sensor I fitted and works fine. What symptoms are you having?

All my sensors are clicking.
90% of the time its a constant tone from the rear - unless the front sensors trigger (they seem to work fine) and this puts out the constant tone from the rear.
5% of the time its a higher pitched sound from the rear and the light flashes.

Should I just start with replacing sensors one at a time.

This problem has got progressively worse over the past 5 months.

Does the Nanocom show the individual distance sensed in cm as reported by the sensors?

This can be rather handy when looking for intermittent faults / drop-outs.

Hy Barny,

where did you buy the sensors?
There seems to be i very wide span in Prices for them.
Are the outer Sensors different than the inner sensors?

Warmest regards from foggy Germany,

Dutch

Hi Dutch
All the sensors in the rear bumper are the same. I bought mine on ebay from rtgroup11 (85839) . I think the sensors had Valeo stamped on them, which is a make I know off, whether they really are valeo of course is another matter! They fitted the sensor holder fine but I did take about 5mm off the polystyrene to allow the connector to fit better.
They are still working.

Hi Barney,

thanx for the reply.
What is the difference between the YDB500300PMA and the YDB500301PMA ?

The front side has 2 different types of sensors. (inner and outer sensors).

Regards from Sauerkrautcountry...

I would suggest you contact the seller direct and make sure that you are ordering the right ones. Mine were a pack of 4;
4X LAND ROVER DISCOVERY PDC PARKING DISTANCE REVERSE SENSOR FRONT REAR 4PS0112S
They work fine on my 05 D3 rear bumper.
