Is this a new News Flash - Panoramic Roof
Hi all,
My 2012 Disco 4 Lux has been booked in for a tow ball check on Tuesday 28th. July at my local stealers since I received my letter on 8th. July.
Just received a phone call from the stealers to cancel the appointment, with the added information that I would be receiving a recall letter within the next few day from LRJ requesting me to book my Disco in for the Panoramic roof to be re-bonded. Work to re-bond would take about 2 days to complete and the tow ball would be checked at the same time.
Do we all have a problem that hasn't been mentioned before or am I the first to be notified. To date I have not had a problem with my roof or tow ball??????????????????

I had a letter from JLR about the removeable tow ball but mine has a fixed system on so it went for recycling.

Hi 'Lost for Words'
Thanks for that.
Just checked the vin numbers, and yep mine falls right in the middle of that lot, so looks like there will be a few other getting an enclosure from LRJ in the very near future.

Had a voluntary recall today for the panoramic roof, apparently there could be a problem with the adhesive causing it to leak, rattle or come off which could cause other people to swerve which could result in a crash! If my roof came off whilst driving I think I'd need new underpants too, doesn't mention that

Is it just me that feels uncomfortable about this?
I understand that there may have been a manufacturing fault, but my faith in my Land Rover dealer, or any of them as a matter of fact in carrying out a repair of this nature fills me with dread!
It hits sounds like a disaster waiting to happen following the repair, and I would not be surprised if it makes the car worse and ends up leaking or squeaking or even worse.
Is it also juts me they reads the letter that due to one roof detaching and the risk to other road users, Land Rover are doing this recall to protect them from potential legal battles as a result of the manufacturing fault, that they by their own admission have stated they are responsible for.
It think this will take serious thought before taking action,,and I think those of us affected would also take some legal advice on this matter, as it sounds to me that LR should really be replacing the affected cars with a new vehicle that was properly assembled the first time from the production line!Nige - 2014 Disco 4 TDV6 HSE Luxury - Scotia Grey

Hmmmmm.... Yes. Indeed.
Got my letter today.
Roof has leaked through the very rear courtesy light a few times in the last month. There I was thinking it was the seal on the GPS aerial. Didn't realise it was my roof about to come off!
I don't like the idea of someone taking my roof off. Not convinced it will go on again any better....
