I thought I would mention the poor (or none existent) GPS module as a consideration mainly. And extra cost of c £100
Im aware of the external Bluetooth and wifi units, many used in the flying world - I even have one, although find my ipad does reasonably well in the cockpit. For me the pain is charging connecting and hassle sometimes when you want speed or ease
I saw one at a show recently that you could bond to the rood and power then it could be connected to via Bluetooth - seemed like a good idea, but it might not be launched yet.
Like I say, personally im fine with the built in systemMike

@Mike: same with me, so I was glad to find the GNS 2000. Once installed, I have never touched it again.
Perhaps it works for you too.
