I fitted this last night after the original switch on my D3 died due to the build-up of grot inside. No photos unfortunately as it started raining but it's a piece of cake to swap. Just make sure you cut the cables as close as you can to the switch you're removing as they don't poke out very far from the tailgate handle - cut too far away and you won't be able to get the crimping tool to the connectors.Previously owned an '08 D3 HSE in Stornoway grey but jumped ship to see what the Swedes have to offer.
I noticed on mine that the rubber has started to perish and crack - so probably going to need another replacement soon - this time will go for a FORD OEM and see if that lasts longer.
Chinese eBay LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.
See what you mean MrH checked mine yesterday the rubbers starting to perish but the switch is still working fine, probably fit ford one, wish I hadn't binned the old rubber when I fitted the new switch. Anyway suppose I could get rubber from a scrappy just up the road.
So the lesson is to fit your old rubber cover if fitting a Chinese switch

Sorry to reprise an old thread...
Can you definitely get the rubber switch out from the outside of the vehicle? Ours appears to have died (no clicking noise from the actuator so assuming/hoping it is the switch for now) but the tailgate is of course stuck shut for now. Might try with the key as one of them is programmed to pop the boot I think but if not or if that doesn't work, I'll need to at least investigate the switch from outside.Cheers,
Gareth

Yes, it comes out from outside the car.
The switch is held in by one of those springy plastic lugs on each side. Put a small screwdriver up the side to depress it and pull.
I used a bit more brute force than technique and the clips broke off but it didn't matter as the switch is being replaced anyway.

Get the black rubber cover off and you'll see the light grey plastic bit - stick a flat something down the RHS gap and pop out the switch
