Just checked mine & as you can see as per the pics, mine have deteriorated 3/4 across the plastic. Just spoke to my local JLR dealer who said nope, never heard of this at all in my 20 years being here.. Really?? It's evident that it's a common problem, clearly! He advised me to book in with them so they can replace the whole sunroof..... okkkkkay! PR K! So, anyway.. He gave me JLR contact number, spoke to a female there, took all my details down, even emailed her these pics, she said she will find out as much as she can in relation to any issues from this & let me know in a few days. I'm not expecting miracles, I admit that, but at least someone there sat & listened & will actually find out, rather than being an ar*e & fobbing me off. If they say no, then that's fine. I will update as & when.

Very quick update, I'm impressed. Although not at the reply.. They said they have looked at the pics I sent & because I didn't purchase from a dealer, they are not able to do anything. They went on to add because it's unknown what the previous owners have used on the vehicle, in the way of cleaning, lubricants etc, it's difficult for them to accept it. Oh well.. At least I know. She did confirm that it would have to be a complete new sunroof though if I wanted to replace, but seeing as this has never happened from what we know, it won't be a top of the list of things.

My local stealer said he's been working there 20 odd yrs & never heard of the problem, when I insisted I wasn't lying & said it appears to be a common problem if other are suffering he then advised me to ring JLR direct as I "knew best" as per my posts, they were very understanding, but they had never heard of any issues. Because nothing has happened with regards the sunroof breaking off, it's not an obv problem for them, I Ben emailed her the pics in my post & she apparently went through them with one of their technicians.

Just hold the switch in the open position for what seems an eternity(1-2mins) and it will come back to life
With the engine switched on of course and preferably with it running to prevent a flat battery.

Oh dear, my sunroof looks like it has cracks like everybody elses. If it wasn't for the beige interior I could have sworn that somebody had taken pictures of my sunroof as the cracks are in the same place.
I have search for the part number EED500023, £500
Has anbody taken thiers to the stealers to get replaced?
Land Rover can not seem to build a vehicle with sunroofs that don't leak. You think they would have got it right by now.

I don't think anyone's has failed (ie broke off) yet, Stratstones - my local said that if I was concerned they could replace the whole sunroof for me... At a lovely cost to myself. I'm saving for my TC 1st

Would it be worth dribbling some decent superglue into the cracks?

Mine has the same thing... besides, I found the sunroof is already loose when it’s close, make noise like a old bus when I driving on bumpy road. I am trying to think of a fix to that loose sun roof
