If it's at a higher level I would leave it. A friend of mine had the same issue and did the upgrade(downgrade) then found the level his was on was due to be released shortly.

If you want to be 100% then drop the GAP guys an email

Do not flash any vehicle ECU unless you have a demonstrable need to do so.

No really, don't do it.

You should only flash an ECU when specifically required as part of the installation of new hardware or when you have a specific fault that is known to be resolved by a specific ECU update.

Anything else is just rolling the dice. 'Joy Flashing' is a mug's game.

Yeah, the iid update number.
Thanks, will leave it for now.
Did look at 3 flash etc and it says it's already on, so guess I need to flash the ecu.
I didn't see options for COD but then remembered that requires flash also, so going to try.

I haven't got a flashy charger, but my battery seems ok, so i think I'll charge battery before on my halfrauds charger, then charge again after the flash?

The IIDTool and the IIDTool manual complement each other to control the risk. Outside of the beta program the the IIDTool will not allow you to anything that has not been tested. The remaining risk is stated, as are the consequences of failure together with any required precautions. The tool also has some neat recovery features should something unexpected happen.

The manual lists ECU flashing risks in terms of:

Risk Level - eg Moderate
Consequence - eg Vehicle Unusable / Physical damage to component
Recovery Method - eg IPC Recovery Procedure
Precautions - eg None or a Mandatory Procedure

The tool may be the size of a toy but it is immensely powerful. Following the manual and the wider guidance from Gap and forum members makes it a safe and utterly effective tool.

But the best advice for whatever your using is read the manual Thumbs Up

Also only my opinion but

Just because you have one of these don't think yourself indestructible,
Things can still go wrong.

I've had my IID BT for some months but still haven't plucked up the courage to flash the BCU to give me 3 Flash indicators.
Everything else I wanted to add, I have.

Make sure your battery is good. Then flash away Thumbs Up

Can do silly things when the voltage is a bit low, but never had an issue with the IID and software updates Thumbs Up

I wouldn't advise it to anyone, but I flashed my IPC for COD after being parked up all weekend. Volts were down to 11.8v, and it flashed OK Thumbs Up

It is the BCM that goes Censored up if the flash fails, so it needs a fully charged battery, or additional support when flashing Thumbs Up

I did the COD the same day I got my IID. The battery was in need of replacement but it worked fine. It takes just a few seconds to flash the IP.
I tried the BCU flash this morning but the IID said the battery voltage was too low. I'll need to charge the battery before I do it. My battery is new but I do mostly short trips, which obviously take there toll on the battery charge. So I'll try again once I've put the battery on an overnight charge.
