Throtle Bpody - Gone Wrong Again

Hi
Just after i purchased my D4 back in late 2011 / early 2012, i had a n issue, that i can only describe as a miss fire, and yes i know that is hard on a Diesel. Eventually, after all the warning lights came on, it turned out to be the throtle body, that was duley changed.
The same problem happened at the end of last year, just after the warrenty ran out. this time, as i paid for the work, £273 all in cost, i retreved the old part. looking inside, it was very oily to say the least, which appeared to have block the sensor that is moiunted in the body.
the question is two fold;
1. has anyone else had this happen?
2. can the sensor / shoulf the sensor be cleaned?

Keith
 Cheers
Keith
